We are looking for a Lead DBA to ensure enterprise databases are secure, performant, highly available, recoverable, and cost-effective across on-prem and cloud environments — protecting the systems of record for revenue, customer experience, and regulatory reporting.
We are looking for a Lead DBA to ensure enterprise databases are secure, performant, highly available, recoverable, and cost-effective across on-prem and cloud environments — protecting the systems of record for revenue, customer experience, and regulatory reporting. The role owns database operational excellence and sets standards that scale across teams, reducing outages and data risk while optimizing licensing and infrastructure spend.
The defining shift for this seat in 2026 is intelligent, proactive, cost-efficient data operations across hybrid and multi-cloud estates. AI DBA practice now includes deploying agents that continuously monitor query performance, optimize cluster sizing, and tune execution engines without manual intervention, and enabling developer self-service through GitOps and automation.
The value this person brings is a highly available, performant, secure database estate with strong leadership and growing automation — where toil is engineered away and the team focuses on higher-level architecture.
We are seeking a reliability-obsessed, change-disciplined DBA leader who stays calm during incidents and coordinates clearly with application engineering, SRE, security, and data teams. They mentor DBAs, set standards, and embrace automation to eliminate toil rather than fearing it.
This is a lead profile that partners across DBAs, infrastructure/cloud, data engineering, security/GRC, and application teams. It suits someone open to a hybrid engagement with on-site presence for critical operations, and to mobilization to the Middle East, Europe, or North America depending on the client. The person we want safeguards the data estate.
A strong candidate for this role has owned a database estate and led a DBA team — someone who has managed HA/DR, tuned performance, handled database incidents, and set standards that scaled. They bring an openness to AI-driven monitoring and tuning and to developer self-service patterns.
In practice, the responsibilities break down as follows:
We want to see a DBA leader with deep engine expertise and strong reliability discipline, who is curious about AI-driven tuning and monitoring and treats automation as a way to eliminate toil.

This role is delivered through Solutions Chapter Group's Human Resources chapter (Chapter 12) as a Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) engagement, under our Technical Recruitment stream. Rather than a "post-and-pray" marketplace approach, we use a Curated Professional Recruitment model: candidate profiles are pre-vetted in our internal database, and when a required profile isn't already available, our dedicated Scout network conducts global headhunting to secure it. We screen and match candidates against each client's specific requirements, and placements may be remote or an on-site deployment with mobilization to the Middle East, Europe, or the United States.
From a recruitment-fit perspective, we screen for:
