We are looking for a senior SAP application engineer to design, build, and extend business applications on the SAP platform — developing on S/4HANA with modern ABAP, exposing services, and building Fiori user experiences that functional teams and end users depend on.
We are looking for a senior SAP application engineer to design, build, and extend business applications on the SAP platform — developing on S/4HANA with modern ABAP, exposing services, and building Fiori user experiences that functional teams and end users depend on. This is a hands-on, senior development role: owning the technical design of SAP applications and extensions end to end, from the data model to the UI, and mentoring other engineers.
The defining shift for this seat in 2026 is Clean Core extensibility. Rather than modifying the SAP core, modern SAP engineering builds upgrade-safe extensions using the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), CDS views, and officially released SAP APIs — on the ABAP Cloud model and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) — so the system stays clean and upgradable. A second shift is AI-assisted ABAP development, where generative tooling in the ABAP environment accelerates building clean-core-compliant applications and services, with the engineer accountable for verifying the output.
The value this person brings is well-architected, upgrade-safe SAP applications and extensions that close real business gaps without compromising core system integrity.
We are seeking a senior SAP engineer with genuine development depth who designs clean, maintainable solutions and defends sound extensibility choices. They collaborate closely with functional consultants to turn business requirements into technical designs, are disciplined about staying inside clean-core boundaries, and keep learning as the S/4HANA and BTP landscape evolves.
This is a senior IC profile that partners across SAP functional teams, architecture, integration, security, and QA. It suits someone open to a hybrid or remote-first engagement, and to mobilization to the Middle East, Europe, or North America depending on the client. The person we want delivers SAP applications that stay upgradable.
A strong candidate for this role has built and extended SAP applications on S/4HANA end to end — someone who has designed data models, developed business logic, exposed services, and delivered Fiori apps while keeping the core clean. They bring an openness to AI-assisted ABAP development and the discipline to verify generated code.
In practice, the responsibilities break down as follows:
We want to see an SAP engineer with real S/4HANA development depth who builds clean, upgrade-safe solutions and keeps integrations reliable, and who is comfortable using AI tooling and verifying it.
Core SAP engineering
Engineering performance (KPIs from research)
Modern Agentic AI / AIOps (niche areas we are seeking — depth explored at interview)
This role is delivered through Solutions Chapter Group's Human Resources chapter (Chapter 12) as a Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) engagement, under our Technical Recruitment stream. Rather than a "post-and-pray" marketplace approach, we use a Curated Professional Recruitment model: candidate profiles are pre-vetted in our internal database, and when a required profile isn't already available, our dedicated Scout network conducts global headhunting to secure it. We screen and match candidates against each client's specific requirements, and placements may be remote or an on-site deployment with mobilization to the Middle East, Europe, or the United States.
From a recruitment-fit perspective, we screen for:
